REGULAR MEETING 5:15 P.M. February 13, 2013
I. 5:15—CALL TO ORDER:
II. 5:15—ROLL CALL: Present: Marilynn Baker, Tom Brandon, Dave Dalthorp,
Devi Tate. Absent: Dan Stafford (Excused).
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
January 9, 2013; approved.
IV. 5:20—OLD BUSINESS:
A. None
V. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
A. None
II. WORKSHOP:
A. Commissioners discussed the individual and summary evaluation matrices
done on proposals submitted to assist with the creation of a Historic
Preservation Plan. Staff noted that the same priority hierarchy was reached
both individually and collectively, with Teresa Brum 8s Associates taking first
priority position, followed closely by ASM Affiliates. Northwest Cultural
Resources Services and Peter Meijer Architect trailed by a fair margin.
B. Based on this unanimous recommendation a City Council report will likely be
written by staff proposing a contract with Teresa Brum 8v Associates.
III. 5:55—OTHER BUSINESS:
A. Staff reported on books to be deaccessioned which were stored for the
Franklin County Historical Society at the Salvation Army storage area. Sample
items were shared with the Commission.
B. Commissioner Baker shared information on three future events of interest:
"Slavery in the Northwest: The Charles Mitchell Story" 7:00 pm Feb 21, 2013
at the Richland Public Library; The Tri-Cities Antique Show, Friday, March
9th to Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at the TRAC Facility; and Rock Creek
Floodway Field Trip: Cheney-Palouse Scabland Tract, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday, May 4, 2013, Cheney, WA.
