HomeMy WebLinkAbout01.03.13 Park Board MinutesPARK & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES JANUARY 3, 2013 CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. Board Members Present: Tom Davenport Duane Taber Edmon Daniels Mike Matthews Abigail Kidd Jim Michaud Richard Brandt Saul Martinez — Council Liaison Staff Present: Rick Terway, Director A &CS Carleen Hanscom, Recreation Services Manager Dan Dotta, Facilities Services Manager MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Edmon moved to approve the minutes of the November 8, 2012 meeting. Edmon seconded. Motion carried unanimously. STAFF REPORTS: Recreation • Cable Bridge Run had 2375 participants • First Night had over 4000 attending • Twin City Basketball — Men's — has over 250 players on 30 teams • Flag Football finished with 289 players and 24 teams • Pasco Youth Basketball is starting with 317 players Senior Center • Hosted the Breakfast with Santa with close to 100 attending • Hosted the Yoke's Holiday Dinner with 200 in attendance • Will share final Foot Care report from December at the next meeting. Maintenance Personnel Activity • Attended Monthly Safety Meetings Park & Facility Projects • Burned tumbleweeds • Reattached netting at 36 Soccer • Electrical repairs at Senior Center • Installed floor tiles at City Hall entrances • Built new office for new Police officers • Moved Police into office • Re- lamped Golf Course sheds • Painted empty offices in the Police Department • Irrigation repairs: mainline, lateral, valves Cemetery • Performed 7 funerals; 5 burials and 2 cremations • Completed 1 pre -need contract, installed 5 stones • Cleaned up after the wind storm Special Events • Assisted Recreation with setup and tear down for Yokes Christmas dinner • Assisted Recreation with Cable Bridge Run • Assisted Recreation with First Night Other • Wind damage— Rd 84 fence, 32 trees, $180,000 damage • Facilities I position open OTHER: Neighborhood Pool Recommendations: MOTION: Duane moved to send the Neighborhood Pool Recommendations Memo to Council as presented. Tom seconded. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
