MEETING OF OCTOBER 4, 2012
A. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Gottschalk called the regular meeting of the Code Enforcement Board to order at 7:00 p.m.
B. ROLL CALL

Secretary Nickolds called the roll, noted all five Board members were
present and a quorum was attained.
C. ADOPTION OF MINUTES:
Chairperson Gottschalk called for a motion to approve the CEB minutes of September 6, 2012. Board
Member Duncan moved approved the September 6, 2012 CEB minutes as mailed. Member Cooper
seconded. The motion to approve the minutes of the September 6, 2012 Code Enforcement Board meeting
was unanimously approved.
D. DETERMINATION HEARINGS:
a. Administration of Oaths
Chairperson Gottschalk administered the oath of truthfulness to Secretary Nickolds.
b. Hearings Scheduled
No hearings were scheduled.
c. Amendments
Secretary Nickolds reported that the three cases licensed for hearing on the mailed agenda had been
placed the resolution, and advised that the City, having properly notified all respondents for cases
placed in the resolution, would recommend the CEB adopt the resolution as amended.
d. Dismissals
None
e. Motion
Board Member Duncan made a motion, seconded by Board Member Cooper, approving Resolution
No. 2012 -10 as amended, finding that code violations have been corrected and may be dismissed,
deferring action on certain cases until proper notification is made, accepting voluntary correction
agreements, assessing penalties and imposing time frames on certain cases. The motion carried
unanimously.

E. STAFF REPORT AND OTHER BUSINESS:
Secretary Nickolds advised the Board that the City was making an effort to reduce backlogged nuisance
complaints by having staff spend periods of time each week concentrated on complaint investigation.
Secretary Nickolds also advised that in 2013, the city would be divided into three separate code
enforcement districts, within which the officers assigned would handle all code enforcement activities in
each district; to include rental inspections, business and dog license enforcement, and commercial and
residential nuisance enforcement and abatement
F. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Pasco Code Enforcement Board, the meeting was adjourned by
Chairperson Gottschalk at 7:07 p.m.
