Pledge of Allegiance III. Approval of the February 8, 2011 meeting minutes. IV. ALTC program updates for January & February 2011. V. Senior Center highlights and discussion  On-going services and activities: o Financial Advisory Hour & Dessert Social - Third Thursday of each month from 11 am. – 12 pm. FREE o Dental Hygiene Services – Preventative services offered at reduced rates for anyone over the age of 60. Medicaid and Insurance is billed for services if applicable. All ages are welcomed. For an appointment call Marie McElderry, RDH, BS at 420-0884. o FREE Hearing Screening – 3rd Tuesday of each month beginning at 11:30 am. In addition to the hearing screenings, you can also have your hearing aid cleaned and performance check-up performed. An appointment is necessary and can be made at the front desk or by calling 545-3459. o New sessions of Enhance Fitness and Stretch and Tone, began March. o An AARP Driver Safety class took place January 12th & 13th with 10 people participating. o AARP Tax Aide began February 7th. Services are available by appointment on Mondays at the Pasco Senior Center until April 11th. There is no charge for this service. o Another session of Sewing with Marcy begins February 28th and will continue until May 23rd. Cost for this class is $26 for City of Pasco residents and $39 for non-residents. To register please call Marcy at 545- 8285. o Another session of Drawing with Jerre Raven beings March 2nd and runs until April 20th. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 11 am – 2 pm. $41R/$60 NR. Please register with the instructor. o Wii Games for seniors continues to be available Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 pm. For more information please inquire at the front desk or call 545- 3459.  Upcoming events o The next AARP Driver Safety classes will be offered March 9th & 10th. Cost is $12 for AARP members (proof of membership required) and $14 for non- members. Register at the Pasco Senior Center front desk or call 545-3459. o Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 am on Sunday, March 13th. Don’t forget to set your clock ahead by 1 hour. o St. Patrick’s Dance – Wednesday, March 16th from 1 – 4 pm at the Pasco Senior Center. $5/person at the door. Live music by the Columbia River Dance Band. o The Best of Broadway Presents: WICKED – The untold story of the witches of Oz. Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Spokane. Cost is $130 for City of Pasco residents and $195 for non-residents. This fee includes transportation to and from the event, dinner and gratuities at Anthony’s Homeport Restaurant and the Broadway tickets. Registration deadline is April 15, 2011. For more information call 545-3456. This trip is almost sold out. There are currently 5 tickets available. VI. Old Business VII. Music by Carmen and Dale. $5/person at the door. o Fashion Flashback: Sunday, May 15th at 2 pm. Sponsored by Pasco High School fashion students. FREE! o Summer Art Camp (ages 6 to 16): June 20 – 23 from 4:30 –6 pm. $67R/$80NR. o “Mid Summer Nights” Dance: Saturday, June 25th from 7 – 10 pm. Music provided by the Columbia River Dance Band. $5/person at the door. o The Tiny Chef – Kids Cooking Class (ages 8 – 12): Wednesdays, June 29 – July 27, 2011 from 4 – 6 pm. $85R/$127NR o Chocolate Making 101 with the Country Mercantile (for ages 7+): Three separate session are being offered. June 29th, July 20th and August 10th. All session are held from 10 – 11:30 am at the Country Mercantile. $7R/$10NR. o Babysitter Training (ages 11 – 15): Monday & Tuesday, June 27th & 28th from 12:30 – 4:30 pm. This class is a FREE class but requires a $20 deposit. You must attend both classes in order to receive your deposit back. o Animation (children 10+): Three sessions are being offered. June 29 & 30, July 6 & 7 and July 13 & 14. All session dates are on Wednesdays & Thursdays from 9 – 10:30 a.m. $84R/$126NR (lab fee may apply). o Summer Art Camp (ages 6 to 16): July 11 – 14 from 3 –4:30 pm. $67R/$80NR. o Beautiful Summer Flowers (Design your own bouquet for any occasion): For adults and seniors. July 28th from 3 – 4 pm. $35R/52NR. Instructor will furnish supplies. Instructed by Luck Flowers of Pasco. o Tacoma Museum of Glass Tour & Lunch on the Waterfront: August 4th form 7 am – 9 pm. Fee is $99 per person. Registration deadline is 5 pm on Thursday, July 21st. This trip is for adults 18 and over. o Beautiful Fall Flowers (Design your own bouquet for any occasion): For adults and seniors. August 18th from 3 – 4 pm. $35R/52NR. Instructor will furnish supplies. Instructed by Luck Flowers of Pasco. Registration for the activities listed above begins Tuesday April 19th.
