Purpose: Each employee is a representative of the City on a daily basis; therefore, each employee should always be attired in a manner that reflects (and contributes to) the professional respect and relationship we must have for, and with, our citizens and colleagues. Policy: Employees of the City of Pasco are expected to dress in a manner that is professional and appropriate for the duties described in their job classification. Because employees perform a wide variety of tasks and services, there is no defined standard of clothing. Rather, each department director will provide adequate guidance to employees regarding acceptable attire. The Order provides both general guidance to be respected and, for certain positions, specific expectations. I. Uniform/City Clothing A. Employees who are issued uniform clothing are expected to wear their uniform in a neat and professional manner. This includes buttoned shirts, shirts that are sized appropriately; shirts are to be tucked into the employee' s pants or skirt. Shirts designed to be worn on the outside may be worn as such provided that they are of a neat and professional appearance. B. From time to time the City Manager will authorize the purchase of clothing articles to be assigned to specific job classifications for use as directed in this Administrative Order. All clothing articles are the property of the City of Pasco. The style and type of clothing articles may be changed or the program may be discontinued altogether without notice. C. Employees identified in Appendix A will be required to wear uniform clothing as directed by their department director. D. Employees assigned uniform articles of clothing are required to keep said clothing in good condition, arrive at work in clean uniforms, keep uniforms as clean as possible while at work and launder them on a regular basis.
