This Administrative Order is effective April 21, and replaces all previous amendments and
original issues of Administrative Order No. 47 and Administrative Order No. 207.
I. PURPOSE:
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) authorizes the distinction between non - exempt
(commonly known as "hourly ") and exempt positions for overtime and other payroll
purposes. It is the purpose of this Administrative Order to clearly establish that
distinction as the FLSA rules apply to the City of Pasco workforce.
II. DEFINITIONS:
For purposes of the Administrative Order, exempt means not subject to overtime rules
and regulations. Non - exempt means subject to overtime rules and regulations.
III. EXEMPT POSITIONS:
The following positions are deemed to meet the FLSA tests for exempt status and,
accordingly, are exempt from the overtime provisions of the Act; that is, they are not
eligible for overtime. Any exceptions to this provision require written approval of the
City Manager.
