I. PURPOSE: The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) authorizes the distinction between non - exempt (commonly known as "hourly ") and exempt positions for overtime and other payroll purposes. It is the purpose of this Administrative Order to clearly establish that distinction as the FLSA rules apply to the City of Pasco workforce. II. DEFINITIONS: For purposes of the Administrative Order, exempt means not subject to overtime rules and regulations. Non - exempt means subject to overtime rules and regulations. III. EXEMPT POSITIONS: The following positions are deemed to meet the FLSA tests for exempt status and, accordingly, are exempt from the overtime provisions of the Act; that is, they are not eligible for overtime. V. PERSONNEL RECORDS: The Human Resources Office is hereby directed to establish an appropriate and effective record system for the maintenance of the distinctions set forth herein.
