SUBJECT: LONG DISTANCE CALLS .
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY , it shall be the policy of the City to discipline
the use of long distance telephone calls , as follows:
(a) The Accounts Payable Clerk in the Finance Department shall send to
each Department Head a log of all long distance calls made from the
telephone lines assigned to that department . The log will be in the
form of the billing statement provided by the telephone company and
the State SCAN/WATTS Service .
(b) Each Department Head shall review the log and satisfy himself that
the long distance calls charged to each phone are proper . Long distance
calls made at an unusual time (or holiday) to a place not normally called ,
or from a telephone which has no business making long distance calls ,
should be challenged . Any abuse discovered is to be reported to the
City Manager for disciplinary action .
