Subject: Public Notice of Council Meeting Agendas

Purpose: To assure adequate notice is provided to the public of any meeting of the City Council and to
comply with RCW 35A.12.160.
Policy:
The agenda prepared by the City Manager for each meeting of the City Council (whether regular or
special meeting) shall be made available at least 24 hours prior to the time the meeting is scheduled to
commence, in the following manners:
1. Delivered in hard copy to the Pasco Public Library to be made available for public review and/or
copying;
2. Placed on the city's internet website in a location readily available to a site visitor, if operational;
3. Transmitted to the Tri -City Herald and any other media outlet which has filed written request
with the City Manager's office to receive notice of City Council meetings.
While 24 hours is considered minimally adequate, the general practice for regularly scheduled meetings
will result in the foregoing steps being accomplished 72 hours prior to such meetings (Friday evening
prior to a Monday City Council meeting). Failure to do so, however, will not constitute a violation of
this policy, as there will be infrequent occasions when circumstances prevent fulfillment more than 24
