A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CY 2005 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT ALLOCATIONS AND ANNUAL WORK PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City of Pasco will receive a grant of approximately $698,000 from the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in calendar year 2005, plus a carry over of
$100,000 from the shell building activity, thereby representing a total CDBG capacity of
approximately $798,000 for CY 2005; and
WHEREAS, the city has solicited proposals for the use of said funds for the purposes
authorized under the CDBG program; and
WHEREAS, the City staff and Planning Commission have reviewed the proposals and,
after two (2) public hearings and due consideration, recommended allocation of the anticipated
funding in the form of an annul work plan, as required by HUD; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the staff and
Planning Commission regarding the proposed use of funds; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PASCO:
That the CY 2005 allocation of CDBG funds and Annual Work Plan shall be as follows:
1. CDBG Program Administration $70,000
2. Code Enforcement 48,000
3. Recreation Specialist -MLCC 37,500
4. Recreation Program—Civic Center 37,500
5. Senior Citizen Program 37,500
6. Martin Luther King Center—Renovation 150,000
7. Economic Development 100,000
8. Handicap ramps (city-wide) 80,000
9. East Pasco Underground Power Lines 52,000
10. Boys & Girls Club—Facility rehab 45,000
11. CAC —Energy Home Program 20,000
12. Catholic Family & Child Services —Low Income
minor repairs 15,000
13. Pasco Downtown Development Association-
Commercial Kitchen 50,000
14, Pasco School District(classes at Pasco Com. Kit.) 30,000
15. Downtown FaVade Improvement 25,000
TOTAL $798,000
The expenditure of funds for each of the approved activities shall be substantially
consistent with the description proposal filed by the sponsoring agency.
