A RESOLUTION ASSESSING ABATEMENT EXPENSES FOR ISLAND ESTATES
PHASE 2, LOT 39.
WHEREAS, from time to time in order to secure the welfare and safety of the public the
City is compelled to demolish and remove unsafe and dangerous structures; and
WHEREAS, the record owner of the property described above failed to respond to the
City's May 18, 2004 notice to demolish and remove an unsafe, fire destroyed dwelling; and
WHEREAS, in the interest of public safety the City completed the required abatement
and incurred costs totaling $10,938.30; and
WHEREAS, in order to recover the costs associated with the demolition and removal of
said unsafe and dangerous structures, in compliance with Section 902 of the Uniform Code For
The Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, the legislative body of the City may assess the
abatement expenses against the property in the form of a special assessment and lien, NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO
That abatement expenses in the amount of$10,938.30 for the demolition and removal of /
the unsafe, fire destroyed dwelling previously situated upon real property described as Island
Estates Phase 2, Lot 39 be assessed against said property as a special assessment and lien upon
said property and, said lien shall be filed with the Franklin County Auditor and shall be
paramount to all other liens. The lien shall continue until the assessment and all interest due and
payable thereon are paid.
