A RESOLUTION SUPPOR'T'ING PASCO SCHOOL DISTRICT'S
SPECIAL REPLACEMENT (M&,0) TAX LEVY.
WHEREAS, in 1998 the Pasco voters approved the two-year Pasco School
District's maintenance and operations levy; and
WHEREAS, the levy provides for funding for school maintenance and
operations; and
WHEREAS, the levy will expire in December 2000; and
WHEREAS, a two-year replacement levy will be needed to provide for
maintenance and operations for the years 2001 and 2002, as well as to provide
for the anticipated 1.5 percent annual increase in school enrollment; and
WHEREAS, the replacement levy will increase the tax on a $100,000
home from $4.07 per thousand to approximately $4.29 per thousand for 2001
and to approximately $4.65 per thousand for 2002; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of Pasco to have
sufficient school funding;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Pasco City Council hereby endorses Pasco School
District's Special Replacement (M&O) Tax Levy which will provide for sufficient
school funding.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco at a regular meeting this
7th day of February, 2000.
