ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
CHAPTER 3.05, "AMBULANCE SERVICE EXCISE TAX" OF THE PASCO
MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING FEES AND CHARGES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pasco has determined that certain additions
and amendments regarding ambulance fees are warranted;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO,
WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: (deletions by interlineations, additions by

Section 1. That PMC Section 3.05.030 is amended to read as follows:
3.05.030 LEVY OF TAX. In addition to any rates or charges as fixed by the council, an monthly
tax in the-such amount of fifty raefA ($60) „°r menth as set forth in Chapter 3.07 of this code
shall be levied and collected from all households, businesses and industries located in the City
and served by the ambulance service. Each separate physical location shall be assessed a tax.
Separate water and/or sewer hookups shall be one criterion for determining a separate physical
location.
Multiple dwelling units, group and convalescent homes, parks for mobile homes,
recreation vehicles and trailers licensed as a business under Chapter 5.04 of this code shall be
taxed an amount equal to the amount of fift.. eents (S.50) per-,Y.,,s,tk the monthly household tax
described in the preceeding_paragraph, times (x) the number of units, spaces, or lots for rent or
lease, whether or not rented or leased. "Multiple dwelling units" does not include hotels, motels
or rooming houses.
The City Manager or his designee shall be responsible for the billing and collection of
this tax. The taxes shall be due and owing 30 days after the billing date and shall be delinquent

Section 2. That PMC Section 3.05.050 is amended to read as follows:
3.05.050 NONPAYMENT PENALTY. Any person not paying the tax imposed by this chapter
after having notice thereof shall be chargeable with a civil violation with a less
than fift�, dollars ($50.00) and not 1-n-e-re dhan five huiNhed dellafs ($500.00) as set forth in
Chapter 3.07 of this code. In addition to the civil penalty, such person shall be ordered to pay the
taxes due and shall be punished for contempt of court in the event they are not paid within the
time and in the manner ordered by the court. In addition, a willful failure to pay the tax imposed
by this chapter shall be a criminal violation of this code. (Ord. 3521 Sec. 2, 2001; Ord. 3343

Section 3. That PMC Section 3.05.070 is amended to read as follows:
3.05.070 AMBULANCE SERVICE RATES. The following rates categories are established for
ambulance serviced Base Rate for emergency, transport and transfer services as defined in
PMC 3.05.010 for all persons residing within Pasco city limits s f,,,. h,,ndr-°a fig., dell r°
($450.00) and is five h,,.,,Fed f,-ty dollars ($540.00) 2 Base rate for all services for all persons
who reside outside of the City limits; 3) Mileage rate for each mile or portion thereof necessary

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon publication as provided by law.
