AN ORDINANCE of the City of Pasco, Washington, Creating
the Reserve Officers Board of Trustees by Enacting a New Chapter
2.25 "Reserve Officers Board of Trustees."
WHEREAS, the City has heretofore elected to extend the benefits of the
Volunteer Firefighters' and Reserve Officers' Relief and Pension Act to reserve
officers of the Pasco Police Department; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for a Board of Trustees organized
for the purpose of administering the disability benefits under that Act; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That a new Chapter 2.25 entitled "Reserve Officers Board of
Trustees" of the Pasco Municipal Code shall be and hereby is adopted and shall
read as follows:
CHAPTER 2.25
RESERVE OFFICERS BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Sections:
2.25.010 Created - Purpose.
2.25.020 Membership.
2.25.030 Powers and Duties of the Board of Trustees.
2.25.010 CREATED - PURPOSE. There is hereby created a Reserve
Officers Board of Trustees under the authority of RCW 41.24.460 for the
purpose of the administration of the benefits provided under Chapter 41.24
RCW.
2.25.020 MEMBERSHIP. The Reserve Officers Board of Trustees shall
consist of the following five (5) members:
A) The Mayor.
B) A member of the City Council as appointed by the Mayor.
C) Financial Services Manager.
D) The Chief of Police of the Pasco Police Department.
E) One (1) reserve officer who is elected by the reserve officers of the
City of Pasco Police Department for an annual term of one (1) year.

2.25.030 POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. The
Reserve Officers Board of Trustees shall adopt such rules and regulations,
which shall enable it to fairly and efficiently carry out its responsibilities as set
forth in Chapter 41.24 RCW.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take full force and effect five days after
its approval, passage and publication as required by law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco, Washington, and
approved as provided by law this 5th day of May, 2003.
