AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO LAND USE AND ZONING
AMENDING PMC CHAPTER 25.12 DEALING WITH YARD
DEFINITIONS.
WHEREAS, cities have the responsibility to regulate and control the
physical development within their borders and insure the public health,
safety and welfare are maintained; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Pasco has zoning regulations that encourage
orderly growth and development of the City; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that to further the
purposes of comprehensive planning and to maintain and protect the welfare
of the community, it is necessary to amend PMC Title 25, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 25.12.490 of the Pasco Municipal Code be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
25.12.490 YARD FRONT. "Front yard" means an open and unoccupied
space, except as provided herein, extending across the full width of the lot
between any building and any street right-of-way adjacent the lot. and

Section 2. That Section 25.12.500 of the Pasco Municipal Code be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
25.12.500 YARD, SIDE. "Side yard" means an open and unoccupied
space, except as provided herein, extending from the front yard to the rear
yam lot line between the principal building and the side lot line.-an4 The
side yard shall be measured perpendicular from the side lot line to the
closest point of the principal building.
Section 3. That Section 25.12.495 of the Pasco Municipal Code be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
25.12.495 YARD REAR. "Rear yard" means an open and unoccupied space,
except as provided herein, extending across the full width of the lot between
the principal building and the rear lot line and measured perpendicular from
the rear lot line to the closest point of the building. to the biai ding to t- ,

Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days
after passage and publication as required by law.
