MINUTES
April 7, 2011
In attendance:

Staff: Rick Terway, Director A&CS and Dan Dotta, Facilities Manager.
Meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.
Mike Mathews moved to approve the minutes from the February 3, 2011 meeting.
Edmon Daniels seconded.
Minutes were approved unanimously.
STAFF REPORTS
Recreation
• Geocaching Policy Discussion
• RecPro Update
• Night Court Update
Maintenance
Personnel Activity
• Attended Monthly Safety Meetings
• Completed Confined Spaces training
• Attended Turf Days training
Park & Facility Projects
• Tumbleweed removal
• Charged irrigation systems
• Removed two trees at Softball Complex due to high winds
• Laid out and striped fields at 36 Soccer
• Replaced irrigation pump at 36 Soccer
• Completed new burn trailer
• Replaced two irrigation clocks and an isolation valve
Cemetery
• Preformed 6 funerals; 5 burials and 1 cremations
• Completed 4 pre-need contracts and install 4 headstones
• Re-located irrigation wires for new system
Special Events
• Library Lighting project completed
• Hosted 2 softball tournaments and 1 baseball tournament
• Contractor seeded eastside of soccer fields at the 68 Soccer Complex
• Kiwanis rebuilt and painted bleachers at Memorial Park
• ShareFest Projects completed: planted two shrub beds at McGee, at Chiawana- built a
new planter bed and planted it, rebuilt horseshoe pits, painted shelters, painted
bollards and picnic tables, At heritage Park- cleaned play equipment and installed new
wood chips at MILK they painted the foyer and restrooms and the Cemetery-they
planted new beds around the meditation gardens and general cleanup
Director
Parks, Recreation and Forestry Comprehensive Plan update will go before City Council for
consideration on April 11th and 25tH
Discussed the upcoming Linda Loviisa Park Neighborhood meeting on April 12th and new
Recreation Brochure will be distributed April 13tH
The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
