STAFF REPORTS
Recreation
• 1 handed out a draft of a regional geocaching policy for use in parks. I would like the
board to review and provide me any feedback at the next meeting. This is a policy that
will likely be used in all the regional city parks to create some consistency across our
borders so it is the same for geocachers.
• We launched the new registration system on April 25. It is going very well, lots of good
feedback from customers and staff. We had over 600 accounts created in the first
week.
• 1 presented a plan to the Pasco Kiwanis about starting back up the Night Court program.
We are waiting to find out if this is a program they would like to participate in via
volunteers and/or donations.
• Benton County has announced that they will be hosting the regional parks and
recreation board meeting on July 26, 2011. More to come...
• The Summer Recreation guide is out with lots of new classes and camps.
• May is Bike to Work month and I have posters for the regional Bike-to-Work Challenge if
anyone has a location they can post one please feel free to take one or more.
• We are in the process of hiring all the seasonal aquatics staff and we are also hiring a
part-time office assistant.
