MINUTES

Meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m.
It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from the May 5, 2011 meeting.
Minutes were approved unanimously.
STAFF REPORTS
Recreation
Feedback on GeoCache Policy that was handed out at last meeting
• All board members in attendance supported. We will move forward with implementing
for Pasco.
Aquatics
• Channel Cats hosting first swim meet on June 3-5 at Memorial Pool
• Hiring all seasonal aquatics staff now
• Pools open June 11
• Pool parties for schools start June 6

• Cheer Camp -June 20-23
• The Tiny Chef— kids cooking camp June 29-July 27
• Chess Camp — 2 different weeks of Beginner and Advanced
• Animation Camp—3 Different weeks

• Flowers For All Occasions—July 20 and August 10

Personnel Activity
• Attended Monthly Safety Meetings
Park & Facility Projects
• Filled Memorial Pool
• Move salt generator, installed umbrellas and shade cloth
• Prepared Memorial Pool for swim meet
• Striped fields at 36 Soccer
• Cleaned and painted Kurtzman and Richardson pools
• Removed old play equipment at Chiawana on east end of park
• Replaced crawl tube at Richardson Park
• Swept bike path
• Re-striped parking stalls at Softball
• Bolted down and removed extra picnic tables at Memorial Park due to vandalism issues
• Irrigation repairs: 7 mainline, 3 lateral
Cemetery
• Preformed 9 funerals; 6 burials and 3 cremations
• Completed 2 pre-need contracts and install 8 headstones
• Implemented new smart irrigation system
• Prepared for Memorial Day
• Planted 5 new trees
• Stained gazebo
Special Events
• Demo smart control irrigation system from Toro
• Assisted Little League with painting foul lines for jamboree
• Softball- Clean and Sober, WIAA district tournaments, Church jamboree, Men's league
tournament
Director
• Discussed the opening of the pools for the summer
• Discussed and Board concurred to restrict Road 36 soccer field to scheduled use only
• Linda Loviisa Park is moving ahead, with engineering now working on the plans.
• Informed Board of the "Pinata's in Parks" policy.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
