Rick Terway, Administrative and Community Services Director, Dan Dotta, Facilities Services Manager and Carleen Hanscom, Recreation Services Manager. A motion was made by Mike Mathews, seconded by Curt Shaw, to approve the minutes. Presentation by Laurel Strand from Leadership Tri-Cities regarding the leadership project, which is a remodel of the play area, weight room area of the King Center, to include a mural on the south wall of the room. STAFF REPORTS Recreation • Summer Guide • YMCA remodel • Recreation programs • Utilization of Senior Center for recreation programs Maintenance • Installed new irrigation and domestic water line at Memorial Pool • Removed two trees at Memorial Park • Pruned trees at Schlagel, Memorial and Walter Field • Tumbleweed removal • Started to prepare small equipment for the season • Repair hot water heater at Animal Control • Re-lamped golf cart sheds • Replaced light fixtures at Fire Stations 81 and 83 • Completed Martin Luther King remodel project • Cemetery: 7 funerals, 3 burials and 4 cremations Projects Talked about the Memorial Pool update and the status. Talked about fees and policies. Maintenance and operation and market trends would be used to set fees. The past ordinances and resolutions will be amended and authorizing staff to set fees to be approved by the Park Board and reviewed by the Council. There was some discussion on using surcharge vs. discount and the discount was the preferred method. With no other discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
