Meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.
STAFF REPORTS
Recreation
• Senior Picnic - had 1200 people in attendance this year at TRAC
• Cable Bridge Run flyers are out and registrations began in August.
o New shirts this year for the first 1500 people to register
• Sponsorship packet going very well in 2010—raised over$40,000 in in-kind sponsors for
Grand Old 4t and Cable Bridge Run
• Already have 11 tournaments booked for softball complex in 2011
• Working on production of Winter Recreation Guide will be out on December 7
• State Cross Country this weekend at Sun Willows
• New website has been launched
• TCVCB tradeshow—we hosted a booth with Kennewick and Richland P&R; we won the
best booth award
• Youth Basketball Registration is going well
• New Programs coming out in Winter Recreation Guide
• Hike and GeoCache
• Ballet
• Hip Hop Dance
• Beading
• Homemade Greeting Cards
• Computer Classes
Maintenance
Personnel Activity
• Attended Monthly Safety Meetings
• Attended Flaggers re-certification
Park& Facility Projects
• Pruned various shrub beds
• Irrigation repairs: 3 mainline 2 lateral breaks
• Planted 6 new trees at Island Park that were donated to the City
• Repaired ball valves for kennels at Animal Control
• Repaired doors at Animal Control
• Scoreboards at Highlands completed
• Winterized Dust Devils Stadium
• Removed shade cloth at Softball Complex for season
• Replaced backflow preventers at City Hall
• Cleared brush around Animal Control and Juvenile Pond
• Cut dangerous tree down west of Wayside Park
• Replaced irrigation line for trees at Chiawana Park
• Closed Chiawana Park for the season
Cemetery
• Preformed 4 funerals; 1 burials and 3 cremations
• Planted 5 trees
Special Events
• Setup and tore down Hay Ride for Recreation
• Contractor painted offices at Downtown Post Office
• Contractor installed carpet at Downtown Post Office
• Corpse conducted study for Playground and restroom project

• Discussed progress on updating Parks &Recreation Comprehensive Plan
• Staff vision
• Stakeholders questionnaire
• Inventory
• GIS Data
• Survey
• Requested Board members complete and return survey
