HomeMy WebLinkAbout06122008 Code Enforcement Board Minutes CODE ENFORCEMENT MINUTES MEETING OF JUNE 12, 2008 Acting Chairperson, Larry Smith called the regular meeting of the Code Enforcement Board to order at 7:00 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT MEMBERS ABSENT Dwayne Speer, Chairperson Larry Smith, Acting Chairperson Mary Gutierrez Lisa Gemig Dennis Duncan STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Mitch Nickolds, Debbie Scott, Martin Barajas, Lloyd Coughlin, Jake Hickman, and Sophia Aquarius APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Lisa Gemig made a motion to accept the minutes of May 6, 2008 as mailed. Dennis Duncan seconded, motion carried unanimously. DETERMINATION HEARINGS A. Dismissals Lisa Gemig made a motion to accept Resolution No. 2008-06. Dennis Duncan seconded, motion carried unanimously. COMPLIANCE HEARINGS: (1) City of Pasco vs. AREVALO, ALBA (CEB2008-0360) 809 S. 4T" LANE Violation: Failure to secure a residential rental license for the duplex at this location. Failure to submit a certificate of inspection for the rental dwelling units at this location. No front yard landscaping. Parking on an unapproved surface; front of property. Weeds. CODE BOARD DECISION: Board ordered AREVALO, ALBA pay an immediate penalty of Two Hundred Dollars ($200) for a REPEAT Violation, and within Thirty (30) days mitigate all housing code violations, property nuisance violations, landscaping violations and parking violations, or within Twenty (20) DAYS show that the property has been vacated, secured from entry, the exterior cleaned of all trash, litter and debris, and have a plan to manage and continuously maintain this property, or pay a daily penalty of Two Hundred Dollars ($200) per day until property comes into compliance. Extensions for work in progress can be granted from the Inspection Services Manager by showing work in progress. (2) City of Pasco vs. ESPINOZA, RUBEN G & KANDACE (CEB2008-0332) 1424 N 4" AVE. Violation: Cross Connect, properly install and maintain backflow prevention assemblies (The backflow preventer froze and was improperly repaired). CODE BOARD DECISION: Board ordered ESPINOZA, RUBEN G & KANDACE pay an immediate penalty of Fifty Dollars ($50)to reimburse the City for the cost of personal service of the notice, and pay an immediate penalty of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) for a 5rh REPEAT Violation. OTHER BUSINESS: The Code Enforcement Hearing for July is scheduled for July 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m..
