HomeMy WebLinkAbout10042007 Code Enforcement Board Minutes CODE ENFORCEMENT MINUTES MEETING OF OCTOBER 4, 2007 Chairperson Larry Smith called the regular meeting of the Code Enforcement Board to order at 7:00 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT MEMBERS ABSENT Larry Smith, Chairperson Mary Gutierrez Pat Diaz Dwayne Speer Lisa Gemig STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Mitch Nickolds, Ernie Molina, Debbie Scott, Kristina Gray, and Angie Pitman VISITOR: APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mary Gutierrez made a motion to accept the minutes of September 6, 2007 as mailed. Lisa Gemig seconded, motion carried unanimously. DETERMINATION HEARINGS A. Dismissals Dwayne Speer made a motion to accept Resolution No. 2007-10, Lisa Gemig seconded, motion carried unanimously. COMPLIANCE HEARINGS: (1) City of Pasco vs. COBBLE, SHARON KAYE (CEB2007-0684) REPEAT 939 W. AGATE ST VIOLATION: Failure to renew your 2007 rental license. CODE BOARD DECISION: Board ordered Cobble, Sharon Kaye pay an immediate penalty of two hundred dollars ($200) for a REPEAT violation. (2) City of Pasco vs. MADRIGAL, NORMA (CEB2007-0687) REPEAT 909 N. 3rd AVE VIOLATION: Trash can in public view. Dead and dying required commercial landscaping. Lack of required maintenance for landscaping. Storage of commercial vehicles in public view. Weeds on the entire property (front and rear) causing a fire hazard. CODE BOARD DECISION: Board ordered Madrigal, Norma pay an immediate penalty of two hundred dollars ($200) for a REPEAT violation to be held in abeyance for a period of one (1) year provided no similar violations of the Pasco Municipal Code occur on the property. (3) City of Pasco vs. JONES, MARTIN A & SUSAN M (CEB2007-0240) REPEAT 8511 STUTZ DR VIOLATION: General dilapidation, lack of maintenance and unsanitary conditions existing at this rental property. Heaters don't work. Underrated extension cords being used for portable heat. Holes, large and small, in all apartments inspected. Hazardous electrical wiring, outlets, lights etc. In all apartments inspected. No lighting in common areas and hallways. Mold in kitchens and bathrooms, in most units. No hand rails in some of the stairways. Broken windows throughout. No windows in some area's. No ventilation or fans for the stoves in these units. Sink has been plugged in unit#1, for a long time (mold and dirt water in sink). Sinks in most units leak or have leaked. Some toilets are broken and leaking. Broken flooring in kitchens and bathrooms. Water damage on interior walls. Doors and door jams are faulty and dilapidated. Mice & Cockroach infestation. Unsafe and inadequate lighting in most units. No smoke detectors that work. CODE BOARD DECISION: Board ordered dismissed.
