3. Clerk’s Report/Correspondence:
• Citizen-at-large Recruitment
o The Citizen-at-large position is currently posted on the City's website and advertised on the
City’s social media channels. Applications are being accepted with a candidate selection
target of July 6th, followed by approval at the July 20th LEOFF Board Meeting.
• Fire Representative Recruitment
o This recruitment will be underway the week of 6/22 since the current incumbent’s term
ends in September of this year.
• Cost Breakdown of Invoices for Member #9506 & Member #1326
o The Clerk is coordinating with the families of both members to obtain itemized cost
breakdowns for their respective long-term care facilities.
4. Old Business:
• Long Term Care/Nursing Services or Similar Care – Rule Review & Update
o Based on the information and guidance provided by the Attorney at the March board
meeting, the Clerk has been reviewing the rule for Nursing Home and Similar Services to
update the language to include the following updates:
▪ Medically necessary – all long-term care invoices will need to be itemized to ensure
that the board is only reimbursing for the medically necessary items.
▪ Second medical opinion – affirming the boards right to request an independent
second opinion prior to approving a long-term care claim.
o Proposed language is included in the agenda for review & discussion. (Attachment A)
▪ The Fire & Police Representatives will bring their notes and questions to discuss the
proposed language from the board meeting in May.
