HomeMy WebLinkAboutDUST CONTROL CONDITIONS Dust Control Conditions 1. Dust control must be applied for all excavations, disturbed soil and stored soil on construction work sites to ensure no airborne dust leaves the site at any time. 2. Acceptable types of dust control are spray applied soil stabilizers and mulching or watering all excavated soil at least once every 4 hours (for continuous dust control). 3. On weekends and holidays the property owner/contractor must water the entire site at least once every 8 hours to ensure the site is wetted in the event the wind comes up over 20 MPH. 4. All unprotected/disturbed soil must be thoroughly watered at the end of each day. 5. If there is no permanent water supply on site, the property owner/contractor must keep a suƯicient number of water trucks (at least one water truck with a minimum of 5,000 gallon capacity for each FIVE (5) acres of excavated soil, or part thereof) and suƯicient tanked water supply on the site to ensure the entire site can be watered with the first load of water before refilling. 6. Fully staƯ and operate all required water trucks during wind events in excess of 20 MPH or, whenever fugitive airborne dust is present. 7. All Water connections must comply with the conditions of approval for connection. Connections to the domestic water system must comply with conditions of the Fire Hydrant meter application or special conditions approved by the Public Works Director.
