HomeMy WebLinkAbout4641 Resolution - CSAP Goal CommitmentResolution - Approving a Commitment Goal to Reduce Fatal and Serious Injuries on City Roads - 1 RESOLUTION NO. 4641 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING A COMMITMENT GOAL TO REDUCE FATAL AND SERIOUS INJURIES ON CITY ROADS BY 50% BY 2035. WHEREAS, in 2024, the City of Pasco secured federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Program to help develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP); and WHEREAS, the CSAP aims to reduce fatal and serious injuries on city roadways through engineering improvements and countermeasures; and WHEREAS, to be eligible to apply for SS4A grant funds, cities must have a governing body committed to the eventual goal of zero roadway fatalities and serious injuries; and WHEREAS, the City of Pasco is committed to reducing fatal and serious injuries by 50% by the year 2035. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON: That the City Council of the City of Pasco is committed to the eventual goal of zero roadway fatalities and serious injuries. Be It Further Resolved, that the City Council of the City of Pasco approves the commitment goal to reduce the number of fatal and serious injuries by 50% by the year 2035. Be It Further Resolved, that the City Manager is authorized to take all necessary actions to implement this goal. Be It Further Resolved, that this Resolution shall take effect immediately.
