2. Approval of Minutes:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: ____________________ moved to approve April 21st, 2025, minutes.

3. Clerk’s Report/Correspondence:
• WSLEA Conference – The Clerk of the board attended the conference on May 7th.
o The Clerk attended the conference on May 7th. While at the conference they attended various
sessions, including informational sessions on Medicare changes, Veteran’s benefits, and an
Audiologist presentation.
o While at the conference, the Clerk also attended the Secretaries round table. While at the
roundtable, the questions that the work group had regarding some of the rules were answered
regarding the need to intertwine disability in the rules as there are no longer any active LEOFF 1
member. The answer to that was that it is recommended the disability-related rules remain in the
by-laws. This recommendation comes from a LEOFF attorney for the state LEOFF board.
o The Clerk also connected with the Yakima County board Clerk to collaborate with them on their
Long-Term Care procedure as they shared, they have three intake forms that they utilize that they
will be sharing.
4. Old Business:
• Medicare Part B Premiums –
o Part B Premiums and 1099s – there are still some members that are outstanding.
o Part B Premiums Reimbursements & Alternative Documents
▪ For the member that is not receiving an SSA-1099 due to not having social security
benefits, they should be receiving another social security form with just the Medicare Part
B Premiums called SSA-1042S and it is utilized for those that do not receive social
security benefits but do receive Medicare. If they do not have that form, they can request
a copy by calling the Social Security office and obtaining a copy.
• LEOFF Board Rules & Procedures Work Group –
o The group has made progress recommending changes to the rules. The Clerk will have a final
draft at the June board meeting for the board to review the recommended changes.
• Member Reimbursement Clarification
o Reimbursement Clarification – Hearing Aid Glasses
▪ The clerk notified the member of the board’s decision and informed them of the
documentation needed in order to determine the appropriate reimbursement amount.
They indicated that they would work to get that from their provider. They have not
submitted the information requested.
