City Council Special Meeting

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Pete Serrano, Mayor.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers present: Pete Serrano, David Milne, Blanche Barajas, Melissa
Blasdel, Charles Grimm, Peter Harpster, and Leo Perales
Councilmembers attending remotely:
Councilmembers absent: None
Staff present: Dave Zabell, Interim City Manager; Richa Sigdel, Deputy City
Manager; Angela Pashon, Assistant City Manager; Darcy Buckley, Finance
Director; Kevin Crowley, Fire Chief; Eric Ferguson, City Attorney; Craig Raymond,
Deputy Community & Economic Development Director; Jesse Rice, Parks &
Recreation Director; Ken Roske, Police Chief; Maria Serra, Public Works Director;
and Debby Barham, City Clerk
The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
NEW BUSINESS
Legal Counsel Services Agreement
Mr. Zabell discussed general legal counsel services needed during the interim, prior
to the hiring of an in-house City Attorney. He recommended that Council consider
rescinding the Notice of Termination received from Kerr Ferguson Law, PLLC. Mr.
Zabell expanded on the recruitment of a City Manager prior to hiring a City Attorney
and the estimated timeline for both hires.
Mayor Serrano called for public comments three (3) times and no one came forward
to speak.
MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Milne moved, seconded by Councilmember Blasdel
to direct the City Manager to accept a rescission of the Notice of Termination
previously received from Kerr Ferguson Law, PLLC.
RESULT: Motion carried unanimously. 7-0

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:09 PM.
