The Commission had questionsabout the weighting so we called Dave Bales, the Public Safety Testing ExamAdministrator, who was able to communicate with us that the weighing factors couldchange based on the organization since the weighting is based on a survey from ourorganization. This makes the scoring more personalized to the organization and what theyare looking for at each of these ranks. Dave also mentioned that it is rare that theweighting of the scores would make a large change. The Commission decided thatweighting the scores for the 3 examinations would be best. MOTION: Janis Hastings made a motion to approve the change in character of examination for the Fire Lieutenant, Captain, and Battalion Chief and include weighting the scores as discussed.
