Contract was originally awarded in 2020, but was extended to 2021 to allow for additional time to complete the work. Additional information Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)—Benton and Franklin Counties COVID funding to assist the homeless population to place in hotels to help stop the spread of COVID. Original grant received in 2020 for $595,930. Received three contract amendments to add money and extend the end date. Total award with amendments is$3,667,500. Contract expires September 30 2023. Treasury Rental Assistance Programs.—Multiple contracts and amendments in response to the COVID pandemic. Funding is for rental and utility assistance. Provides services at Human Services and contracted funding to Goodwill Industries of the Columbia to assist with administering the funding. Partner with Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Contracted Benton and Franklin County funding for over$1.2 million dollars to assist with outreach and education of housing programs and how to access them and complete necessary paperwork. They outsourced 1-2 staff to the Human Services office to assist with the increased volume of people accessing services. Also included was funding for pop up vaccination clinics specifically focused on historically underserved communities and people experiencing homelessness. Received funding for Isolation and Quarantine site during the COVID pandemic for people who were homeless or displaced and needed a safe place. $707,000 from Washington State Department of Commerce and received $190,000 from the Benton Franklin Health Department to continue the program after the Commerce grant expired. In 2022 created a new position at Human Services for an Outreach Coordinator. The person hired into the position, Niria Lucatero, is bilingual and working to develop relationships with community partners and meeting people experiencing a housing crisis in the community.
