Home My WebLink About4303 Resolution - RESCINDED 02.21.2023 Retail Cannabis with Conditional Use Permit in I-1 I-2 and I-3 Zones RESOLUTION NO. 4303 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DIRECTING THE CITY STAFF TO DRAFT AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND PMC 25.10.020 AND PMC 25.115,PMC 25.120,AND PMC 25.125 TO ALLOW THE RETAIL SALE OF CANNABIS BY PROCESS OF A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT IN THE I-1, I-2 AND I-3 ZONE(S). WHEREAS, after an extensive public outreach process and discussi iple meetings, the City Council has asked the City Staffto prepare an ordinance for 'on that would allow the City of Pasco to lift the ban on retail sales of cannabis an 1 re il sales in certain zones; and WHEREAS, State Initiative 502 ("I-502"), approved by v s o ashington State in November of 2012, provides a framework for licensing and regu ii retail sale and use of ii cannabis purchased from state licensed businesses; and WHEREAS, under State Initiative 502 {"I-502" ington State Liquor Cannabis Board is tasked with the responsibility to adopt regula erning the licensing and operation of cannabis producers,processors, and retailers, th �as set these regulations; and WHEREAS, the City intends to dev a riate zoning and land use regulations to accommodate the retail sale of cannabis th onflict with Washington State Law; and WHEREAS, the City has i �l and evaluated amendments to City regulations regarding the retail uses of cannab' d � abis retail facilities and wishes to direct staff to return with an ordinance only allowin e a aof cannabis by process of a conditional use permit in I-1, I-2 and I-3 zone(s). � NOW, THERE , THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WA5HINGTON, LVE AS FOLLOWS: That t ouncil hereby requests that the City Staff draft an ordinance for considerati ng Pasco Municipal Code 25.10.020, and further, amend PMC 25.115,PMC 25.120 a .125 for the sale of cannabis by process of a conditional use permit to be placed with' � -2 and I-3 zoning district(s). � It Further Resolved that this Resolution shall take effect immediately.
