DATE: August 24, 2020 CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was call to order at 5:16 pm, at a remote GoToMeeting. ROLL CALL: Members present: Ericka Garcia, Janis Hastings, Josee Saldua

MOTION: Janis Hastings moved to approve the July 27, 2020 GoToMeeting meeting minutes. Josee Saldua
seconded the motion. Discussion. The motion carried 3-0 OLD BUSINESS:
NEW BUSINESS: POLICE:
Approval of the Police Sergeant provisional position MOTION: Janis Hastings moved to approve the Police Sergeant provisional position. Josee Saldua seconded the motion. Discussion. The motion carried 3-0.
FIRE:
Approval of the Deputy Fire Chief eligible list
MOTION: Josee Saldua moved to approve the Deputy Fire Chief eligible list. Janis Hastings seconded the
motion. Discussion. The motion carried 3-0. The Commission would like to discuss the passing section rule 8.04 at the next meeting.
OTHER BUSINESS:
The Commission was made aware that since Mr. Nelson did not submit a protest of the rating standards within the review period there was no formal protest made in accordance with rules 8.12
and 8.13. The Commission requested to include this item on the agenda for the next meeting to
further discuss this item with the Chief Examiner.
ADJOURNMENT: There was no other business to come before the Commission. The meeting was adjourned
at 5:42 pm. The next scheduled meeting is Monday, September 21, 2020, as a GoToMeeting.
