DATE: January 21, 2020 CALL TO ORDER: The electronic Go To Meeting was call to order at 5:20 pm.
ROLL CALL: Members present: Ericka Garcia, Janis Hastings, Josee Saldua Members absent: Staff: Colleen Chapin, Delaney Towle
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The September 16, 2019 minutes were tabled until January since there was no
quorum in attendance at the September meeting. MOTION: Ericka Garcia moved to approve the September 16, 2019, special meeting minutes. Janis Hastings seconded the motion. Discussion. The motion carried 2-0 (Josee was unable to vote on the approval of the
minutes due to her not being a Commissioner in September 2019.) MOTION: Ericka Garcia moved to approve the December 15, 2019, meeting minutes. Josee Saldua seconded the motion. Discussion. The motion carried 3-0
OLD BUSINESS: NEW BUSINESS: POLICE:
Approval of the Police Specialist – Crime Analyst eligible list
MOTION: Ericka Garcia moved to approve the Crime Analyst eligible list. Janis Hastings seconded the motion. Discussion. The motion carried 3-0.
Approval of the Entry Level Police Officer eligible list
MOTION: Ericka Garcia moved to approve the Entry Level Police Officer eligible list. Josee Saldua seconded the motion. Discussion. The motion carried 3-0 OTHER BUSINESS:
In accordance with Rule 3.01 and 3.02, an Election of a Chairperson and a Chairperson Pro Tem
comes before the Commission annually in January. MOTION: Janis Hastings moved to elect Ericka Garcia as the Commission Chairperson. Josee Saldua seconded the motion. Discussion. The motion carried 2-0. Ericka abstained from voting.
ADJOURNMENT: There was no other business to come before the Commission. The meeting was adjourned at 5:35 pm. The next scheduled meeting Tuesday, February 17, 2020, 5:15 PM, in conference room #1 in City Hall.
