PERSONNEL - FIRE – POLICE
DATE: February 28, 2022 CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:17 pm
ROLL CALL: Members present: Ericka Garcia, Janis Hastings
Members absent: Colleen Chapin, Chief Examiner, Josee Saldua-Potvin Staff: Delaney Tucker
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
MOTION: Janis Hastings moved to approve the January 24, 2022, meeting minutes. Ericka Garcia seconded the motion. Discussion. The motion carried 2-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
Police Chief request to amend Civil Service Rule #12 re: temporary and provisional appointments. o There was further discussion regarding the requested change to the time limit for temporary and provisional appointments. This item was tabled until the next meeting. Per
the Commission’s request Delaney will reach out to Mr. steven DiJulio, who is a Civil
Service subject matter expert for Civil Service Commissions throughout the State of Washington, to gather his input for the March Civil Service meeting. NEW BUSINESS:
POLICE:
Approval of the Administrative Assistant II (AA II) eligible list. MOTION: Janis Hastings moved to approve the AA II eligible list. Ericka Garcia seconded the
motion. Discussion. Motion carried 2-0.
FIRE:
Approval of the Department Assistant I (DA I) job description and title to the Civil Service Rules in accordance with rule 6.01.
MOTION: Janis Hastings moved to approve the inclusion of the DA I job description and title to the Civil Service Rules in accordance with rule 6.01. Ericka Garcia seconded the motion. Discussion. Motion carried 2-0.
OTHER BUSINESS:
None ADJOURNMENT: There was no other business to come before the Commission. The meeting was adjourned at 5:27 pm. The next scheduled meeting is Monday, March 21, 2022, at 5:15 pm.
